👶Every child deserves a chance to live. But millions still don’t. 💔In 2024, an estimated 4.9 million children died before age 5 — including 2.3 million newborns. Most of these deaths are preventable with simple, low-cost care. 📉There is progress: child deaths have dropped by more than 50% since 2000. ⚠️ But progress is slowing — and too many lives are still lost. *Key causes:* 🍼 Newborn complications (almost half of all deaths) 🦟 Malaria (17% of deaths after infancy) 🤧 Pneumonia & diarrhoea 🍽️ Malnutrition (linked to many deaths) *Inequality is stark:* ➡️ 58% of deaths occur in sub-Saharan Africa ➡️ Children in fragile settings are 3x more likely to die *The good news? We know what works:* ✔️ Vaccines ✔️ Skilled care at birth ✔️ Nutrition support ✔️ Strong primary health care ✔️ Every $1 invested can return up to $20 in benefits Learn more ➡️ https://bit.ly/4seG4KD
