A father of five young children was killed when debris from an Iranian missile landed on an Abu Dhabi home. Murib Zaman Nizar, 44, from Bannu in Pakistan’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, was killed on February 28 in Abu Dhabi, the first day of Iranian missile and drone attacks on the UAE. He worked as a driver for a family in the UAE capital and died when missile debris fell on their house. The UAE has labelled Iran’s continued assault on civilian sites and infrastructure as 'brutal and unprovoked'. 'My brother wanted to do a lot for his family, always spoke of wanting to build a house for his children,' his younger brother Muhammad Khan told The National from their hometown | https://news.ae/46Wiaex

'The UAE is far more than a national economy navigating regional turbulence. It is an economic centre serving nearly half of the world’s population. For millions of entrepreneurs, professionals, investors and students across this region, the Emirates has become the place where ambitions are pursued, businesses are built and ideas are transformed into opportunity,' writes Yasar Jarrar for The National. https://news.ae/4lvKtGD

’The moment I moved here, people asked whether I felt ‘safe to be a woman’. I never quite know how to explain that I leave my door unlocked, that I walk home late without a second thought. That this country has done more to actively build tolerance – and stake its own reputation on it – than many places twice its age. Those stories don’t travel as far as the superficial ones,' writes Tina Latif for The National. https://news.ae/4703zi6

As part of the Ehsan Stations initiative, 12 devices are to be installed across the emirate, including 10 units in public parks and two at facilities operated by Dubai Holding. The stations are designed to provide a more organised approach to feeding stray animals while helping authorities better manage their populations. UAE's Ministry of Defence announced on Saturday that the country was subjected to an attack by Iranian ballistic missiles, with air defences intercepting a number of them. Fallen debris resulted in one civilian death of an Asian person in a residential area of Abu Dhabi, the ministry said in a statement. Emergency alerts have been sent to mobile phones in numerous locations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, telling the general public that "due to the current situation, potential missile threats, seek immediate shelter in the closest secure building and to steer away from windows, doors and open areas". The ministry strongly condemned the attack and stressed that such acts constitute a dangerous escalation and a cowardly act that threatens the safety of civilians and undermines stability.
