Writing for The National, Brazil’s President Lula Da Silva says the world must turn words into action at Cop30, which opens in Belem at the heart of the Amazon.
Calling it the 'Cop of Truth', he urges countries to replace promises with action, support forest preservation and honour their responsibilities to the planet.
He says his government will lead by example through a $1 billion investment in the new Tropical Forests Forever Facility, which will reward nations that protect their forests.
