The Sivok–Rangpo Railway Project is a major infrastructure initiative aimed at improving rail connectivity in the Himalayan region. The breakthrough of the 4.148-km Tunnel No. 8 marks significant progress toward completing this route. Once finished, the project will connect Sikkim to India’s national railway network for the first time, strengthening transport links with the Northeast and boosting tourism, trade, and regional development.
