On this International Women's Day, we pay tribute to the incredible women from our IFRC network who are at the heart of our humanitarian efforts. From volunteers to staff, their dedication and resilience inspire us every day. Today, we also call on everyone to take action: dismantle gender barriers and amplify the voices of all women and girls, including young people. Together, we can create a more inclusive and empowered future! #ForAllWomenAndGirls #IWD2026

Families in Gaza are skipping meals so their children can eat. This Ramadan, IFRC's Islamic Philanthropy campaign is raising funds to support the people of Gaza through Palestine Red Crescent Society-PRCS. Your Zakat or Sadaqah can make a real difference, helping provide food to families who don't know where their next meal will come from. The IFRC condemns the killing of Lebanese Red Cross volunteer paramedic Youssef Assaf, who succumbed to the injuries he sustained while carrying out his humanitarian duty to assist and save lives. The IFRC reiterates its call that ambulance personnel, medical staff, and Lebanese Red Cross staff and volunteers must be respected and protected at all times. Under international humanitarian law, medical and humanitarian personnel must not be targeted and must be allowed to carry out their life-saving work safely. The IFRC is appalled by the death of Hamidreza Jahanbakhsh, a staff member of the Iranian Red Crescent from Isfahan Province, who was killed during a search and rescue operation in Tiran-o-Korun, Isfahan Province, on 8 March. We express our sincere condolences to his family, loved ones, and all Iranian Red Crescent colleagues.
