*Middle East regional update* I am sure that you have seen the news. Conflict is escalating across the region, and families are fleeing with little more than what they can carry. The UN World Food Programme (WFP) is operational, positioned, and ready to scale as needs grow. We have activated emergency preparedness measures across the region and can move fast to help families affected. *In Lebanon*, figures indicate nearly 30,000 people have been displaced but we believe this total will climb much higher. Our teams are providing bread, hot meals and ready-to-eat food in shelters, alongside emergency cash so vulnerable families can buy food. *In Gaza*, humanitarian needs remain extremely high. The fragile progress achieved after the ceasefire risks being lost due to intermittent closures of access points. WFP continues to deliver emergency meals and food parcels whenever possible. Your help is needed to help continue providing food to vulnerable families. *Donate now:* https://u.mg.wfp.org/1aXyk1nC

*Hunger in Conflict series #1* War can destroy in minutes what took a lifetime to build. This is the first story in our _Hunger in Conflict_ series. In eastern Ukraine, Halina and Mykola have lived side by side for more than 65 years. They built their home with their own hands, lived quietly, and grew their own food. Then came war. And hunger. The fields where crops once grew are now deadly minefields. Shops are closed. For many families near the frontline, finding food each day is a struggle, and many now rely on humanitarian assistance to survive. “_We want to live - and one day die - here_ ” says Halina. _“The cemetery is close, under the hill.”_ Across Ukraine, and in other places affected by conflict, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) continues delivering life-saving food to families who have lost everything. If you would like to send life-saving food to families like Halina and Mykola, you can do so here: https://u.mg.wfp.org/1vajnSjb

*Ramadan is coming to an end, but for many families the struggle continues.* Across the Middle East, hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes. In Lebanon alone, more than *800,000 people* are displaced. Parents don’t know where their children will sleep tonight or where their next meal will come from. The UN World Food Programme (WFP) teams are working tirelessly to provide emergency meals, bread and food assistance, but needs are rising fast, and supply routes remain fragile. With your support, we have already: • Provided hot meals and ready-to-eat food to 63,700 displaced people in Lebanon • Helped 192,300 people buy food through emergency support • Moved 404 metric tonnes of ready-to-eat food from Türkiye to Lebanon But families already on the edge are being pushed further into crisis. As Ramadan ends, thousands of families are displaced, cold and hungry. *You can help provide emergency meals for those in most need, here:* https://u.mg.wfp.org/1aXyk1nC
