*If you remember X-Factor Harry and you’re buzzing for tour-Harry… It might be time for your cervical screening* 👀  Cervical screening is for women 25–64 and can help prevent cervical cancer. Everyone with a cervix should be offered screening.    You’ll be invited every 5 years, with your first invite landing just before you turn 25.     *So, when the invite drops, don’t ignore it* 💅 Share this with someone who might need the reminder.    ℹ️ https://www.nhs.uk/tests-and-treatments/cervical-screening/

*Around 823 people* were in hospital with norovirus each day last week – *up 45% in a week* and *double* what it was a fortnight ago.    Often called the ‘vomiting bug’, the virus can cause sickness and diarrhoea.    It’s rough while it lasts, but it normally *goes away in about 2 days* 🤢  🏠 most people can manage it at home with rest and lots of fluids  🧼 norovirus spreads easily. The best way to avoid spreading it is to wash your hands frequently with soap and water  🩺 if your symptoms are severe, last beyond a few days, or you're concerned, call NHS 111 or your GP for advice    More info 👉 http://nhs.uk/norovirus

🆕 *There’s been an update to bowel cancer screening.*     Bowel screening FIT kits are sent to everyone aged between 50 and 74.    When they’re sent back, completed kits will be checked at a lower threshold. This means that even smaller amounts of blood can be spotted and if found, get patients referred for more tests earlier.   This helps find early signs of bowel cancer sooner, when treatment is more successful.     🧪 same kit as before   📅 offered every 2 years   📊 most people won’t need any further tests     When you get your kit in the post, pop it somewhere you’ll remember — by the loo is easiest.  Don’t put it off.     More info 👉 https://www.nhs.uk/tests-and-treatments/bowel-cancer-screening/
